Flames are licking on the edges of my mind

They tempt me to burn it all down to the ground

I know my fiery nature makes me blind

I’m a monster – how can she be so kind?

Without her, the fire would consume me

Inhaling her tangy perfume sets me free

She showed me how to sink into cold water

Have trust in the current, don’t fear the crushing waves

When I emerged from that lake, I was forever changed

All my bottled-up rage evaporated

As her tears dropped on my sizzling skin

I regret all the things I have lost in the ashes of my sin

As her scared gaze sets me ablaze

My sorrows drown in her ocean eyes

When the waves wash me overboard again

I will find my way back to my safe haven

Her arms harbour my burning soul

She is the calming flow to my blazing wrath

Her forgiveness shows me another path

This poem is written from the pov of my mc Enya Arati, the vengeful dragon girl, about her girlfriend Meara Kailani, the kind siren.
