Red sun

Look up! How beautiful the stars shine!

An infinite source of light, brightening up the night sky

Guiding lost souls through the mist of life

Stars don’t shine, they burn

They called me their sunshine, took my light for granted

But I’m burning out, my light is fading away

Follow the white dwarf into the wormhole

Every dying sun explodes so bright, the whole universe notices

In the end, we ignored the apocalypse

We got used to the sighting of a solar eclipse

Now all we see is red

Red giant rising on the horizon

Red sun, swallow the black hole

Don’t look up! Don’t look up! Don’t look up!

They chanted, over and over, again and again

As if closing our eyes would pause the world

As if the destruction would disappear when we choose to overlook it

How could we be this … stupid?

For lack of better words

Don’t sugar-coat it!

No, we deserve this.

This is the end.

We deserve the destruction of everything we know, erything we’ve loved

We were so lost within ourselves; now all is lost

The universe takes back what it once gifted to us

We never were more than particles put together for a short period of time

We never deserved eternity

So we shall return to stardust
