I was lost in space
Alone in the universe
Drifting through darkness for months
Until I’ve reached Jupiter
I was too far from home to return
Pushing away the red puffed air
I stranded swayed, and made my way
to the clouds that welcomed my ‘hello’
Still, fluffs seems better than
mindless wandering in the space.
I am tied on nothing but a rope
that keeps me from floating away
Glittering stars far from my reach
Yet I long to be next to somebody
To share my destiny
I’ve never felt so lonely in my whole life
And I have nowhere to go
So I decide to stay here
In the clouds of Jupiter
And on the scattered pages, I brought along
In my bags and spaceships, I pen down
And write letters to a world I left;
In hope of finding one better.
But who knew, the universe had
Such solitude planned for me.
I learned to build myself a home
In my abandoned spaceship,
Working on getting contact to Earth.
But it seemed hopeless.
I went on daily adventures in space,
The only joy keeping me alive.
And every day as these moons spiralled around,
My hands reached out in hope to touch, to see
My home which I left far way.
I closed my fingers on stars and ventures,
Refusing to give up, if there is a way to come here.
There surely must be a way to go back!
All my engineering skills couldn’t prepare me for this.
I needed a new energy for my spaceship,
So I could travel faster than light.
But my motor broke down and left me floating through space…
It took me a year to figure out how to use the energy of the great tornado in Jupiter’s eye.
And the melody ringed throughout the planet:
Beep-Beep! Statistics loaded. Ready to go!
Harbouring, Gathering, the energy hidden
inside the veins of these clouds.
I filled up my vessel. Fuel 0 to 100.
And buckled myself in seatbelts with glittering eyes.
The engine started with a raw noise…
I got excited to get away
And find myself a new home,
Somewhere in this universe;
There’s no return to Earth!
I’ve given up on this wish a long time ago;
But hopefully I’ll find a better place,
With new risks to face.
I looked forward, amazed.
My journey started in the clouds of Jupiter
One last glance back before I left for good,
Wondering where my spaceship will take me.
Long way back home
The eyes of a melancholic traveller
hold the heavy clouds near to burst
As he looks up in the vast sky
Feeling lonely on his journey
Searching for a home he has left
The way he is going on is getting harder
as memories of her flash before his eyes
He blinks away her smiling face
Regretting leaving her behind
His sight seems hazy when he opens them
He knows he needs to let his tears fall
and let her go but somehow he is not able to
Tears are rolling down his cheeks
As he looks up at the hawk turning his circles in the blue sky
He wishes to fly as free as a bird
But he is far away from a cathartic release
With a shaky step forward,
his steps blotching the path with blood
He starts to move forward,
still not knowing where to go
It’s a long way back home
But if it meant crossing the seas
and the oceans to reach to her
He would do it
For in leaving her he found his heartbeat was
Right next to hers.
